MR BARRY MARAJ

Mr Barry Hayden Maraj is Consultant Urological Surgeon at the Whittington Hospital NHS Trust and Honorary Senior Lecturer at University College London and the Royal Free University Hospital. He is the laparoscopic urological surgeon at the Whittington Hospital and mentor for the Caribbean Urology Association (CURA).

Mr Maraj was born in Trinidad and qualified at Glasgow Medical School 1987. Following his training, Mr Maraj completed a successful research fellowship leading to a PhD degree in the molecular biology of cancer.

He has published extensively in this field and continues to undertake research aimed at the development of markers for the screening, prognosis and management of prostate cancer. This complements his clinical and surgical interest in minimally invasive techniques and therapies including Greenlight Laser treatment for the enlarged prostate.
