MR ALAN DOHERTY

Mr Alan Doherty completed his undergraduate training at The Middlesex Hospital before undergoing his surgical training at the Royal Marsden and Charing Cross Hospitals in London.

He also studied at The Institute of Urology before taking up his position as a Consultant Urologist at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, the largest urological cancer centre in the West Midlands, in 2001.

He has published extensively on prostate cancer including articles in The Lancet. Alan has a specialist interest in Laparoscopic Radical Prostatectomy and has performed over 400 cases. Alan was one of the first surgeons to perform Greenlight Laser surgery and has now completed more than 100 procedures.
